Overllay is a desk setup brand that combines custom desk mats with matching digital products. Each product is designed to bring the same visual style across both the desk and screen. I developed the brand identity, website and product range, designing everything from the logo and website experience to the artwork of each desk mat, wallpaper and icon.

About the project
GOAL
Establish a design-led desk setup brand that appeals to a range of aesthetics and creative interests.
SOLUTION
Rather than building the brand around a single visual style, I developed a range of products aimed at different workspace aesthetics, from typographic concepts to more expressive and abstract designs.
Each design was then extended beyond the desk mat itself through matching wallpapers and icons, creating a stronger connection between the physical desk and digital workspace.
The brand identity and website were designed to bring these collections together under a single brand, using a more understated approach that allowed the products to take centre stage.

Visual direction
TYPE
Space Grotesk was chosen for its clean, geometric forms and technical character. It feels modern without being too corporate. This felt like a natural fit for a brand centred around tech, creativity and workspace design.
LOGO
The logotype was built from Space Grotesk and customised to create a more recognisable mark. I reshaped the two L's, introducing a subtle lean that later became the foundation of the brand mark, while further adjustments to the letterforms helped move the logo beyond a standard typeset wordmark.
COLOUR
Rather than competing with the products themselves, the colour palette was designed to act as a neutral backdrop. Dark greys gave the brand a more understated feel, while warm gold accents introduced a sense of warmth that softened the technical side of the identity and helped draw attention towards the products.
PRODUCTS
Each desk mat was designed around a different concept, allowing the range to appeal to a variety of creative interests and workspace styles. Since people approach workspace design differently, I wanted the range to offer a variety of themes, whether that was someone drawn to bold typography, minimal interiors or more expressive and abstract designs.
Application
Applied across product design, website, social content and marketing.
The identity created a consistent user experience across the website and marketing, helping customers discover different collections while keeping the brand instantly recognisable.
